SMCB Earns SNI ISO 21001:2018 Certification; Strengthens Commitment to Quality Education

St. Mary’s College of Baliuag, Inc. (SMCB) has added another milestone to its legacy of excellence after officially being recognized as an SNI ISO 21001:2018 Certified  Educational Organization, affirming its commitment to delivering quality education and continuously improving its educational services.

ISO 21001:2018 focuses on enhancing the quality of educational organization  management systems, ensuring that institutions effectively address the needs of learners while promoting continuous improvement and organizational excellence.

The recognition serves as a testament to its unwavering dedication to providing learner-centered education and maintaining high standards in teaching, learning, and institutional management. 

The achievement also highlights the collective efforts of administrators, faculty members, staff, students, parents, alumni, and stakeholders who contribute to the realization of the school’s mission and vision.

For years, SMCB has remained committed to forming competent, compassionate, and Christ-centered individuals through quality education and holistic development. The institution continues to implement programs and initiatives that support academic excellence while nurturing students’ moral, spiritual, and social growth.

The ISO certification further strengthens the school’s reputation as a leading educational institution in the region. As the first Catholic private school in the City of Baliwag to receive the ISO 21001:2018 certification, SMCB sets itself apart by demonstrating its dedication to international standards of educational quality and service.

In an interview,  Ms. Cecilia  S. Alcantara, the school’s Educational Organization Management Representative (EOMR) emphasized that the certification is a testament to the strong commitment to operating an Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) to provide sustained, innovative, and transformative Ignacian Marian Education.

“Being an ISO 21001:2018 certified school ensures our alignment with the mission of advancing academic excellence, character formation, and social responsibility while responding to the needs of our learners,” Alcantara said.

She explained that the certification strengthens the school’s commitment to forming lifelong learners rooted in Christian values and dedicated to promoting human dignity and social harmony. 

According to Alcantara, the certification also enables the institution to establish, monitor, and review measurable objectives that continuously enhance learning outcomes, community engagement, and institutional effectiveness.

Alcantara further noted that SMCB remains committed to continual improvement through proactive leadership, innovative teaching practices, technological advancement, and collaborative governance. 

She added that the integration of educational research, scientific developments, and technological innovations into the curriculum and school operations helps ensure the institution’s global competitiveness and relevance.

Moreover, she highlighted that the certification supports the school’s advocacy for social justice, community service, environmental stewardship, and responsible management of intellectual property in academic and creative works.

 It also reinforces the institution’s dedication to addressing the needs and expectations of its stakeholders, including students, parents, alumni, employees, church partners, government agencies, and the wider community.

“Our certification status strengthens solidarity, resilience, and commitment to our shared values,” Alcantara stated.
