Sophia Vielle Cruz | Managing Editor for Finance

Being the meticulous woman she is, and duly entrusted with keeping financial records on track, Sophia Vielle V. Cruz holds the position of the Managing Editor for Finance of The Marynette.

Tracing back on her recent years in journalism, she began joining various school-held competitions way back in 9th grade, where she felt her passion arise. Over time, she successfully clutched bronze and silver in Broadcasting in the English Month and Buwan ng Wika competitions. Beyond the campus, she also competed in Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) Phase II in TV Broadcasting & Scriptwriting-Filipino Category as an Anchor and Scriptwriter where she bagged the top spot, then eventually advanced to Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

Outside the field of journalism, she is also a great performer who follows the rhythm of music through dancing and baton twirling. She has been an active member of Salindayog dance troupe since 10th grade and was appointed as the Mother Majorette in 11th and 12th grade while treading the Accountancy, Business, and Management strand. Giving it all out on stage with countless eyes on her became a way for her to unwind and be free.

Unfolding news and voicing out the truth without bias is her ambition that continues to spark up until today.

These skills she possesses are intangible assets that truly make her presence a benefit to the team. Her dedication to academic success, combined with her passion-driven spirit, makes her a dreamer at heart.
