THE EXECUTIVE BOARD 2026

Chrizia Lavigne Villaluna | Sports Editor
Chrizia Lavigne Villaluna is the Sports Editor of The Marynette, where she leads sports-related coverage spanning campus, local, and national stories. In her role, she helps shape a section that goes beyond scores and standings, capturing instead the discipline, movement, and spirit that define the world of sports.
Her journey in journalism began in her fourth year of junior high school, when she first wrote for The Marynette as a sports writer. Since then, her work has grown alongside her own deepening connection to athletics. From 2023 to 2025, she was a member of the school’s girls’ volleyball varsity team, serving as captain and helping lead the team to a first runner-up finish in Siglaro 2024. For Ms. Villaluna, sports is not only something she writes about, but something she has lived.
Ms. Villaluna has also represented the school in press conferences and other competitive spaces. She earned second place in the School-Based Press Conference (SBPC), seventh place in the Clustered Schools Press Conference (CSPC), and participated in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC). Beyond sports writing, she also earned silver in extemporaneous speech at the Baliwag City Private Schools Association (BulPriSA) and bronze at the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BulPriSA). She served as one of the scriptwriters for the 2024 Pingkian and later directed their third-year theatre production, Salamisim na Lihim. She also tried her hand at scriptwriting for a radio broadcast contest during the school’s English Month, further reflecting her range as a writer and competitor.
Now a Business & Entrepreneurship student from Grade 11-St. Augustine of Hippo, Ms. Villaluna continues her second year of writing with a stronger sense of purpose and a growing understanding of what it means to lead the sports section. Her promotion has only deepened her determination to serve with excellence, bringing sports closer to the audience through timely, relevant, and engaging coverage.
More than simply delivering news, Ms. Villaluna seeks to create sports content that informs, entertains, and connects. Through her work, she hopes to enrich the experience of every sports enthusiast while giving the section a voice that is both lively and dependable.
