Malugod na tinanggap ng Department of National Defense (D.N.D.) ang pagkabisa ng Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (A.C.S.A.) sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Hapon noong Sabado, Agosto 22.
Sa kanilang opisyal na pahayag, iginiit ng ahensya na mas paiigtingin ng balangkas ng A.C.S.A. ang ‘operational cooperation’ ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (A.F.P.) at Self-Defense Forces of Japan (S.D.F.J.).
“A.C.S.A. framework further strengthens our operational cooperation through the efficient and coordinated provision of supplies and services between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Self-Defense Forces of Japan, which will greatly impact our bilateral activities including exercises and humanitarian assistance and disaster response,” aniya.
Dagdag nito, ipinakikita ng nasabing kasunduan ang ‘practical application’ na kinatatangian ng ‘mutual trust and our aspiration for a free and open Indo-Pacific region.”

Matatandaang nagpalitan ng mga diplomatikong nota ang mga pamahalaan ng dalawang bansa para sa opisyal na pagpapatupad ng A.C.S.A. sa Maynila noong Hulyo 23.
