JHS, SHS Join Annual Lakbay-aral; Visit Gardenia, Rizal Shrine, EK

Bags packed and buses lined up, students filled the campus with excitement as they prepared to depart for the much-awaited field trip.

The school conducted its annual lakbay-aral on Thursday, Sept. 24, with destinations set in Laguna, including Gardenia Bakeries, Bahay ni Dr. Jose Rizal, and the most anticipated stop, Enchanted Kingdom (E.K.) for Junior High School (J.H.S.) to Senior High School (S.H.S.) students.

The first stop was Gardenia Bakeries in Biñan City, Laguna, where students arrived at approximately 7 a.m. Inside the facility, they were first gathered in a briefing area and shown a video presentation highlighting the company’s operations, product quality, and key facts about its production.

Following the orientation, students were taken on a guided tour around the factory, where they observed the step-by-step process of bread-making. As part of the visit, they were given slices of bread as a token. Photo-taking inside the facility was prohibited; however, students were later given time outside to take pictures and purchase products.

Before proceeding to the next destination, the buses made a brief stopover, allowing students to buy meals and refreshments.

At around 9:30 a.m., students arrived at Bahay ni Dr. Jose Rizal in Calamba City, Laguna. The site, known as the museum of the childhood home of the Philippine national hero, served as an educational stop where students were guided around by tour guides. Through the exhibits, they learned about Dr. Rizal’s life and his role during the Spanish colonization.

After the tour, students were given time to explore the area and take photographs.

The final and most anticipated destination was E.K., where students arrived before noon. Prior to entering the park, they were instructed to eat lunch inside the buses, as outside food was not permitted inside the premises.

Students were then given free time to explore the park, enjoy various rides, and participate in festival games.

Although the original schedule included staying until 6:30 p.m. to watch the fireworks display, the departure time was adjusted to 5:30 p.m. due to travel considerations and the rescheduled fireworks show.

Meanwhile, the Grade School (G.S.) conducted their field trip in Batangas, visiting the Parish and International Shrine of St. Padre Pio, the Apolinario Mabini Shrine, and JCastles.

After the final destination, a short stopover was conducted before heading back to campus, arriving at approximately 9 p.m..

Beyond the enjoyment and excitement, the field trip also served as an opportunity for students to gain real-world learning experiences, connecting classroom lessons to actual industries, historical sites, and cultural spaces.
