THE EXECUTIVE BOARD 2026

Indira Ysabelle Athena Santiago | Chief Online Publisher
There is something quietly beautiful about stories—the way they preserve fleeting moments, breathe life into ordinary experiences, and allow emotions to outlive time. It is within these stories that Indira Ysabelle Athena S. Santiago has found both her voice and her purpose.
A Grade 11 STEM student, Ms. Santiago currently serves as the Chief Online Publisher of The Marynette, where she helps shape the publication’s digital presence and ensure that every story reaches the community it was written for. She believes journalism is more than delivering information—it is the art of fostering understanding and creating connections, one story at a time.
Long before she discovered journalism, she had already fallen in love with words. Inspired by her father, a published author of two books, she grew up believing that writing possesses a quiet kind of magic—the ability to comfort, inspire, and preserve memories long after they have passed. This passion eventually led her to creative and literary writing, where she found another home in weaving emotions into prose and poetry.
Her journey in campus journalism began in 2024 when she first joined The Marynette as a Photojournalist, learning to tell stories through moments captured in a single frame. As her passion for journalism deepened, she became drawn to literary writing, discovering another way to give life to experiences through reflection and emotion. During the previous academic year, she earned Second Place in Pagsulat ng Lathalain during the School-Based Press Conference (SBPC) and represented the school at the Baliwag City Private Schools Association (BaCiPriSA), where she placed Sixth in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay. These milestones reflect not only her growth as a writer but also her unwavering commitment to learning, improving, and creating meaningful work.
Beyond journalism, Indira enjoys writing literary pieces, painting, and baking. To her, creativity is never confined to a single medium—it lives in every piece she writes, every illustration she creates, and every work made with heart.
As she continues her journey as a student, writer, and storyteller, Indira hopes to create works that do more than fill pages. She hopes they become spaces where people feel seen, understood, and inspired—because she believes every story, no matter how quietly it begins, deserves to be heard.
