ICYMI: SMCB Participates in National Earthquake Drill for Disaster Prepared

Campuses across the country paused for a coordinated safety exercise as the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (N.S.E.D.) was conducted on Thursday, June 18, with St. Mary’s College of Baliuag (S.M.C.B.) among the participating institutions.

The N.S.E.D., organized by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (N.D.R.R.M.C.) in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense (O.C.D.) and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), is essential for evaluating and enhancing the country’s disaster response capabilities.

During the exercise, the school community effectively carried out the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” technique in their classrooms, under the supervision of their class mayors and teachers.

The drill, announced by External Relations Coordinator Mr. Renan Geslani, lasted three minutes and five seconds.

In S.M.C.B.’s Emergency Response Plan, below are the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (S.D.R.R.M.C.) organizational chart of the Incident Management Team:

The organizational chart reflects last school year’s structure. Some listed personnel—Ms. Rosalima Arellano, S. Ma. Lourdes Magtangob R.V.M., and Nurse Glenn Eugene Caluag—are no longer with the school.

The school has yet to release an updated S.D.R.R.M.C. organizational chart for the current academic year.
