Fifty Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from Baliwag City completed an intensive three-day business and financial literacy workshop on July 2, aimed at building financial independence and fostering inclusive economic growth in the local community.
The three-day initiative, officially named the Reach Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (RISE) Training ran from June 30 to July 2.
The program provided local P.W.D. beneficiaries with practical tools, financial knowledge, and business strategies designed to help them establish, manage, and scale their own enterprises.
Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in focused discussions covering essential components of micro-entrepreneurship.
The training modules guided attendees through the entire lifecycle of a business, starting with foundational concepts such as business planning and identifying specific target customer needs.
Participants were also introduced to practical sales strategies aimed at helping them market their products and services effectively in a competitive local economy.
In addition to business strategy, a major focal point of the workshop was building sustainable financial habits.
Expert facilitators led sessions on proper financial management, covering crucial topics such as personal and business budgeting, setting realistic financial goals, and exploring safe investment avenues to ensure long-term stability for their families and ventures.
Local organizers emphasized that the initiative goes beyond short-term assistance, focusing instead on empowering participants with sustainable skills that cultivate self-reliance.
City officials expressed strong support for the initiative, noting that the local government remains committed to opening more economic opportunities, boosting self-confidence, and dismantling barriers for P.W.D. citizens so they can successfully pursue their business aspirations.
The RISE training was made possible through a strategic partnership with the Maybank Foundation, organized in close collaboration with People Systems Consultancy.
Expressing gratitude to both organizations, local leaders highlighted how public-private collaborations continue to drive meaningful change across the municipality, ensuring that inclusive development reaches every sector of the population under the city’s compassionate governance framework.
